Amethyst House is a freestanding community residence located on the North Shore of Staten Island that can currently service up to ten women from the New York City area. We are funded by the New York State office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, as well as our own fundraising throughout the year.

Residents live in a safe and structured drug-free house from 6 to 9 months while attending community-based outpatient treatment programs.

At Amethyst, residents are provided with on-going support and guidance in problem solving, conflict resolution, assertiveness skills and an orientation to self-help groups.

Amethyst House is based on a 12-Step model and provides in-house fellowship meetings.
